Oct 13, 2021 · When I play in the rain I have 1) rain gloves 2) extra gloves that I keep in my bag to stay dry 3)lots of towels 4)golf umbrella with a towel hung inside 5)rain paints and jacket for the temperature (long or short sleeve) 6)more dry towels. Really focus on your shots. Staying dry is a full time job, but you have to focus and make good shots.

I love rain golf! get some good rain gears! Depending on how much you plan to play (and keep playing) - buy once, hurt once waterproof shoes + extra socks + towels + umbrella (if walking) rain covers for your bag. The cover that comes with you bag is ok for light rain, but got heavy rain, I use this: Rain Tek Waterproof Golf Bag.

Good rain shell. I don’t use rain pants top is enough for me. Push cart with mounted umbrella. Keeps the grips dry, and me dry while walking until I actually step out from under it to take my shot. Good rain shoes, two pairs to let one dry if I’m playing two days in a row. With that gear I never had an issue playing in the rain.

The right gear definitely makes all the difference, and rain gloves are absolutely essential for gripping the club and allowing you to swing with confidence. Apr 28, 2023 · Playing in the rain is like a whole new game. If you ever plan to play competitively in the rain (amateur tournament, league night, etc) I would try it. Wear rain gear, bring lots of towels, extra gloves, etc. Then see how you do. It’s hard to focus on the round and ask think about keeping dry. It can be fun though.

Jun 17, 2014 · If you get good rain gear, a pair of rain gloves and a good pair of waterproof shoes playing in the rain is great. Once you get used to having two slightly thicker gloves on you don't even have to dry off your grips. The wetter my gloves get the more they hold. Everything is more consistent in the rain.

Jul 26, 2018 · I play thru rain, 27 holes yesterday. My old man won’t, he backed out. To each his own. I know it sounds crazy but I prefer to walk in rain. My push cart has an umbrella holder and you don’t have to play cart path only or 90 degree rule.

Mar 30, 2022 · Played in Scotland a few years ago. One round we played rain came down sideways due to the wind. Rain gloves, rain suit, waterproof shoes, bag cover, extra socks, umbrella are must-haves. Ziplock bags for wallet and cash. Hand warmers also nice to have. Forget about the score and have fun.

Jun 21, 2023 · Personally I’d go baggier on rain gear for golf. I have a regular rain jacket I love but can’t stand swinging a golf club with it on. I recently purchased a baggy foot joy jacket that I’ll probably only use for golf, but at least if it rains I can swing comfortably now! Edit: to add, breathable rain gear is hard to find.
