Jan 6, 2022 · Exactly. A lot of desktop gamers use ultrawide monitors. Alienware recently announced their brand new QD-OLED monitor - the first of its kind - which is a 34 inch curved ultrawide. This tells you the direction PC gaming is going and there's no reason why console should be any different.

Nov 1, 2021 · I recently updated to Windows 11. I have a LG 34 inch ultrawide monitor (21:9 aspect ratio, 2560x1080 resolution). Windows 11 selects the generic Pnp monitor driver, which has a max 1920x1080 resolution, so the screen is fuzzy and stretched out - really unusable.

The resolutions automatically selects on my Surface Pro 3 with Windows 8, but will not allow me to select 2560x1080 on either a Surface Pro 4 nor a Surface Pro 6 (both with W10)

Mar 15, 2024 · The Xbox Series X does not support ultrawide and you'd be buying a monitor that can do 240Hz, but the Xbox can only do half that. While an ultrawide will work, it will look horrible. Since Xbox doesn't support ultra wide resolutions, the max resolution will be either squished into the middle of the display or horribly stretched.

Sep 12, 2020 · Means I'm ok to wait a few months for MS to catch up (and for monitors to get better in the meantime). Only worth it if you're also interested in VR though - first headset I've bought as it seems like the Quest 2 is going to be the one to drive mass adoption and hopefully with that attract more devs to VR.

Dec 9, 2020 · My Xbox series S is connected through the hdmi cable with my iiyama 34" (3440x1440) ultrawide monitor. The problem is that I've read that the display would be trimmed to the 16:9 aspect ratio. At least for me, it isn't. The 2560x1440 picture, in the xbox menu, as in the games is stretched to fit the whole screen, which doesn't look or feel good.

Jun 23, 2020 · My monitor is a LG Ultrawide screen which requires 2560x1080 resolution. Before the current and previous Windows 10 updates (the last one was 1909), I was able to obtain the correct resolution. However, when I updated Window 10 each time, the best resolution I could pick is 1920x1080 which is horrible.

Aug 7, 2021 · I use a Samsung CH890 Series 34-Inch Ultrawide QHD (3440x1440) Computer Monitor during Teams conference calls and have noticed a number of issues during screen share sessions: Unless the recipient of my call uses a monitor at the same resolution as mine, the picture will not show up correctly on their end.
