Not that it matters, but if my daughter was penalized for participating in a school sport, she would be finding a new team. They should be playing as many sports as they can. If it is school softball season, travel ball takes a backseat.

Research shows that playing different sports is good for athletes, as it allows them to use different muscle groups, to mentally take a break, etc. My daughter decided when she was a freshman that she wanted only to do softball. This was HER decision. Other girls NEED to do something else.
