A pizza delivery driver in Birmingham, Alabama was killed while making a stop on New Year's night, police say.

Birmingham police continue to investigate the shooting death of 51-year-old Derek Burpo that occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on New Year’s Day. There have been no arrests in the case, and Birmingham police believe the victim was making a pizza delivery when he was shot in the 400 Block of Roebuck

A pizza delivery driver was fatally shot in Alabama during his evening shift on New Year’s Day, police said. Officers responded to multiple calls about the shooting at about 9 p.m. Jan. 1 in Birmingham, where they found a man with a gunshot wound lying on a private roadway, the police department said in a Jan. 2 news release.
