Former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, who quickly became the top overall prospect in 247Sports' Transfer Rankings, committed to Miami via social media Friday afternoon. Beck's decision comes less than 24 hours after he entered the transfer portal.

At Miami, he’ll replace Heisman Trophy finalist Cam Ward, who’s projected by USA TODAY Sports as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after throwing for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his first and only season with the Hurricanes.

Carson Beck didn’t take long to pick a new school. The former Georgia QB announced Friday he's heading to Miami for the 2025 season and his final year of eligibility. Beck had previously declared for the NFL Draft but entered the transfer portal Thursday as he decided to stay in college for another season.
