Bruins forward Justin Brazeau had crashed into Markstrom after a shot attempt in the crease 3:09 into the second period of the Devils’ 5-1 win on Wednesday. After Markstrom deflected the shot aside, Brazeau slid into Markstrom, crushing Markstrom’s left leg and foot against a goal post.

Goalie Jake Allen came in cold, but he picked up his first win since Nov. 23 at Washington. He stopped all 16 shots he faced. Allen denied David Pastrnak, a 60-goal scorer, minutes after entering the game. He made a split toe save on Oliver Wahlstrom and robbed Charlie Coyle on a breakaway as well during the game.

On Wednesday evening, the New Jersey Devils inducted franchise legend Jacques Lemaire into their Ring of Honor. After the festivities, they had to face a hungry Boston Bruins team in an attempt to snap their four-game skid.

UPDATE: According to the MSG broadcast, there was no update on Jacob Markstrom on Wednesday night. Coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters, “We’ll take some time before we know the full extent on Marky. I talked to him, he is in good spirits. He’s going to miss some time.”
