Just after 10:40 a.m., the college announced that all campus locations were clear and presumed safe, but the college would remain closed for the rest of the day before reopening May 20.

Yavapai College locked down all seven campuses May 19 due to a police situation. Students and staff were told to shelter in place, and the public was advised to avoid campus grounds.
