Shaun Murphy is on the verge of a second Masters title after he established a 6-2 lead over Kyren Wilson at the end of the afternoon session of Sunday’s final. A magnificent 147 break by Murphy against Mark Allen had sent the ‘Magician’ into the showpiece at Alexandra Palace and he continued his fine form against world champion Wilson.

Kyren Wilson said that Shaun Murphy is “turning into an old man” who needed the win more than him, after going down 10-7 to the Magician in the Masters final. Murphy, 42, became champion for the second time in his career in a match that was largely sewn up in the afternoon session. Murphy led 6-2 at the break in north London.
