During one of his two nights performing at the Ryman, Ringo Starr was surprised by Emmylou Harris who invited the former Beatles drummer to make his Grand Ole Opry.

Tuesday night in Nashville, Emmylou Harris invited famed Beatles drummer Ringo Starr to make his Grand Ole Opry debut in February.

Starr will make his Opry debut on February 21 at the Grand Ole Opry House as part of the Opry’s ongoing 100th Anniversary celebration. Starr kicked off his sold-out two-night show (Jan. 14-15) at the Ryman Auditorium Tuesday night, to celebrate his new country album, Look Up.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - On Friday, the Grand Ole Opry announced that Shaboozey’s debut would be postponed due to the wildfires in Los Angeles and evacuating his home. The Grand Ole Opry said his debut will be scheduled for a later date.

That’s right, after a recent show, Starr was surprised on stage by Grand Ole Opry member Emmylou Harris, who gave him the invite to play the Opry. “I’d love to,” Starr said. “It’s an honor and a pleasure. Thank you.”
