The Dodgers won't have Shohei Ohtani pitch to begin the 2025 season; according to a new report manager Dave Roberts has a target month for Ohtani's debut.

After winning the World Series in 2024, the Los Angeles Dodgers are playing the long game with National League MVP Shohei Ohtani. Manager Dave Roberts tells a Japanese outlet that Ohtani won't start pitching until May as he comes back from Tommy John surgery.

The Dodgers agreed to terms with South Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim on Friday. That doesn't mean Los Angeles is necessarily looking to move an infielder from their collection, however, according to what general manager Brandon Gomes told reporters.

The Dodgers have continued to operate. The loss of Walker Buehler (and potentially Jack Flaherty) in free agency was offset as the Dodgers signed two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell. They brought back reliever Blake Treinen and extended Tommy Edman to play center field.
