The Aspire Vero 16 features a chassis mainly made out of post-recycled plastic and some oyster shell material. Plus, its Copilot+ PCs swap Snapdragon X chips for AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 series.

The latest silicon from Intel and AMD will power Acer's laptops and desktops coming later in 2025, including the eco-friendly Aspire Vero 16.

Acer is also at CES 2025 with a slew of new laptops, desktops and other gadgets to show off, and AI continues to be a big talking point. Most notably, the company is refreshing some of its flagship Aspire and Swift Go laptops with updated x86 processors, including the (relatively) new AMD Ryzen AI 300 CPUs and Intel Core Ultra 200H chips.

The journey of Acer's latest eco-conscious laptop begins in the brackish waters near its home base in Taiwan. The tech company announced on Monday a next-generation Aspire Vero 16 that's made partially out of oyster shells,

Acer's latest sustainable laptop model has a strange material in its chassis -- oysters. It's also made with 70% recycled plastic and is supposed to be easy to repair.

Acer is bringing quite an intriguing and dare we say unique innovation to CES with the Aspire Vero 16 laptop. A tech device that’s made partially of oyster shells. To be more specific, Acer says that the Aspire Vero 16 is made with both plastic and bio-based oyster shell material.

Vero 16 laptop ups the eco-friendly ante, at least on paper, with a chassis that the company claims is constructed of 70% post-consumer plastic and a “bio-based oyster shell material.”
