Three Illinois State Police squad cars were struck within two days in violations of the state’s “Move Over Law,” even as troopers mourn the death of Trooper Clay Carns, who was killed in a similar crash on December 23rd.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) — An Illinois State Police (ISP) squad car was struck on I-55 on Sunday morning. ISP says at 10:54 a.m. a trooper was responding to a three-vehicle crash at milepost 105 on I-55 North.

A funeral will be held for fallen Illinois State Police Trooper Clay Carns, who died in a tragic accident while clearing debris from I-55 near Channahon, and is survived by his parents, wife, two children and law enforcement family.
