Two students were injured when they were shot at Antioch High School Wednesday morning. The shooting happened inside the school on Hobson Pike around around 11 a.m. According to Metro police, the situation at the school is contained.

All students are being taken to Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital (3754 Murfreesboro Pike) by bus including car riders, MNPD said.

As a city, as a community, it is impossibly difficult to be here once again dealing with the devastation of gun violence in one of our school communities."

The 17-year-old shooter, who was also a student at Antioch High School, later shot and killed himself with a handgun, Metro Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron said during a news conference. Police identified him as Solomon Henderson.
