Vazquez started his career in 2017 with Atlanta, spending three seasons there before being selected by Nashville in the MLS expansion draft, then being immediately traded to Cincinnati. He was with the USMNT in Austin in October for its training camp at Austin FC's training facility and 2-0 win over Panama at Q2 Stadium.

GiveMeSport reported that Austin FC paid $10 million to land the 26-year-old, meaning Monterrey made a profit after paying $7.5 million one year ago.
