Concerns about a potential bird flu outbreak have emerged in Mid-Michigan after a local hunter discovered a significant number of dead geese. Kolton Beckman, a waterfowl hunter, was scouting for geese in Owosso when he noticed an alarming drop in their numbers.

Monitors with an area bird tracking organization say that they've determined that a number of ducks have succumbed to bird flu​ along Lake Michigan.
