Prior to removing Deep Thought on May 6, salvage crews had to dislodge a pontoon boat that got stuck during a previous removal attempt.

Workers on May 6 used a crane to fish out the mangled remnants of the pontoon boat next to Deep Thought. The boat was part of a prior salvage attempt.
