Phooey. Tie the leader on one side of the swivel first with a Palomar knot. Then tie the braid on the other side, also with a Palomar.
To avoid getting wind knots in freshly spooled braided line, Capt. Theophile Bourgeois allows the line to drag behind his boat. He says it allows the line to untwist and set up tighter on the spool.
