The Miami Dolphins are playing the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins designated their No. 1 QB as a game-day inactive 90 minutes before kickoff.
The Miami Dolphins are surprisingly downgrading Tua Tagovailoa for the potential playoff decider against the Cleveland Browns.
“Dolphins are downgrading Tua Tagovailoa to doubtful for Sunday’s game at Cleveland due to a hip injury, per sources. Tagovailoa still is pushing to play Sunday, but if he can’t, Tyler Huntley would be in line to replace him,” Adam Schefter of ESPN reported in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
The Miami Dolphins are ruling out Tua Tagovailoa following the announcement he is dealing with a significant hip injury.
Tua Tagovailoa (hip) has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game at Cleveland. The Dolphins are 1-3 without Tua.
Tua Tagovailoa is out for the Miami Dolphins in a must-win game against the New York Jets and Tyler Huntley will start at quarterback in his place.
Tua Tagovailoa was limited in Wednesday’s practice as the Miami Dolphins quarterback deals with a right hip injury that sidelined him in Week 17.
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is doubtful for Week 18 due to a hip injury he suffered earlier this month. Tagovailoa was also doubtful last week for a game against the Cleveland Browns and was eventually listed as inactive.
If Tagovailoa is unable to play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, the team would turn to backup Tyler Huntley to take over in the starting lineup. Huntley started three games for Miami earlier this season while Tagovailoa was on injured reserve. The Dolphins went 1-2 in those games and Huntley threw one touchdown and one interception.
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa reportedly is unlikely to play in Week 18 against the New York Jets after being listed as doubtful with a hip injury.
Tua Tagovailoa says “no ifs, ands, or buts” about it, he’ll play next week if the Dolphins are in the playoffs.
