Based on Ashton Edward's 2022 novel Mickey7, Mickey 17 sees Robert Pattinson as an "expendable" (a disposable employee) who gets sent on a dangerous mission to colonize an ice planet.

The film is based on the 2022 novel Mickey 7 by Edward Ashton. The cast includes Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Holliday Grainger, and Anamaria Vartolomei.
