NEW YORK — Sean Manaea was taken by the New York Mets’ family feeling, just like Juan Soto. “I thought that it was a perfect fit. I know Talat, my wife now, she loved it on the family side, as well,” Manaea said Monday during a Zoom call to discuss his $75 million, three-year contract with the Mets that was announced Dec. 27 .

During a panel at the event, as the crowd broke out into chants of "We want Pete" and "Pete Alonso," Cohen got "brutally honest" about the process. The owner said that the Mets had made a "significant" offer to Alonso, but that negotiations had felt lopsided.

The Mets are working on Pete Alonso but a veteran pitcher could be the perfect finishing touch on their offseason.
