FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — It must be confusing to be an Arkansas fan during Kentucky week this year.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas governor announced legislation on Jan. 29 that would ban the use of all smartphones and other personal electronic devices in every public school across the state starting in the 2025-26 school year.

The panel approved a bill Tuesday that would “prohibit discrimination or preferential treatment” by public entities.

Fayetteville city attorney Kit Williams said Ordinance 6800 "likely" violates Arkansas state code that states prices for goods, rentals and services can't be regulated.
