LOS ANGELES — Jayson Tatum was named an All-Star starter for the fifth consecutive season on Thursday night ahead of the Celtics matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers. It will be the sixth straight overall appearance for the Celtics forward, an impressive feat in his eighth NBA season.

Though the Boston Celtics are struggling, Jayson Tatum appears to be a lock to start the NBA All-Star game for a fifth straight year.

Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Donovan Mitchell has been selected as a starter in the NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco, the team confirmed Thursday night.

For the sixth consecutive season, Jayson Tatum is headed to the NBA All-Star Game. The Boston Celtics superstar was announced Thursday as one of five Eastern Conference starters, joining Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell and Karl-Anthony Towns.
