Tiger Woods admitted that it was "very difficult" to relocate The Genesis Invitational to Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego in the wake of the wildfires in California.

Tiger Woods said the goal was to keep the Genesis Invitational on or near the West Coast. It was moved to Torrey Pines outside of San Diego.

As of Friday, Gorsich was doing anything he could to support the Genesis Invitational while also overseeing his own tour event with 75 golfers playing into Saturday’s final round, toward an overall purse of $9 million and a winner’s check of $1.67 million.

The Genesis Invitational golf tournament, which earlier announced it would move away from Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades due to the Los Angeles-area wildfires, will be held next month on the South Course of Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego,

The PGA Tour is relocating the Genesis Invitational out of wildfire-ravaged Los Angeles, announcing Friday it will be held Feb. 13-16 on the South course at Torrey Pines in San Diego with an emphasis on relief initiatives for victims of the fires.

The PGA Tour recently announced that Torrey's South Course would replace Riviera Country Club this year after a devastating wildfire in Pacific Palisades, California.

Hosted by golf icon Tiger Woods, the Genesis is one of eight “signature events” in 2025 that offer more purse money and FedEx Cup points. The Genesis will pay out $20 million to players, compared to $9.3 million at this week’s Farmers Insurance Open.

San Diego – Harris English finished his 6-under 66 with three straight birdies Friday, charging into a one-shot lead over Andrew Novak at 9-under 207 heading into the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open.

The tour said the $20 million signature event hosted by Tiger Woods would return to Riviera Country Club next year.
