The 50th season of “Saturday Night Live” is starting the year off with two new episodes in January, with one featuring Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet as both host and musical guest.

SNL shared the news on Friday, January 10, revealing in their trademark Post-it announcement that the Complete Unknown star, 29, will be doing double duty on the second episode of Season 50. (Dave Chappelle will host the first episode of 2025 on January 18; Glorilla will be the musical guest.)

So, far, SNL has brought back beloved people who have hosted many times – like John Mulaney, Martin Short and Ariana Grande – along with new hosts – like Paul Mescal and Charli XCX. Both Chappelle and Chalamet have hosted before, and this will mark their fourth and third times leading an episode, respectively.

The star of Dune and Call Me By Your Name will not only host the January 25 episode but also take on the role of musical guest. This announcement follows Chalamet’s recent Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in the film A Complete Unknown.
