Local Iranian workers carried out a rare strike on Sunday in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar against inflation and increasing foreign currency rates, according to a recent report in Iran International.
The Grand Bazaar in Tehran is a sprawling, churning labyrinth. Having grown over the centuries, the network of winding, covered alleys extends over several square kilometres.
This came after business owners and employees of Tehran’s historic bazaar staged a rare strike on Sunday to protest inflation and the devaluation of the rial.
