Renton police took a man into custody Monday in connection with his mother’s murder. Shortly after 2 a.m. on Jan. 21, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Williams Avenue South after a 34-year-old man called 911 and said his mother was dead.

Detectives say it appears there was some kind of a fight that led up to her death, and they developed probable cause to detain the son.
