Marietta Water said the water main break happened on Lawrence Street near Covington Avenue, which caused parts of the water system to drop to ‘dangerously low levels.’

Officials say the advisory is in effect until Marietta Water has completed the appropriate testing to be confident that there is no longer a public health concern.

Marietta officials also said that additional water main breaks also happened at Lakewood Drive and Parkview Drive, but those did not require a boil water advisory or pose a concer
