Manchester United have reached a broad agreement with Lecce for the transfer of Patrick Dorgu for €30million (£25.2m) plus €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons. The Serie A side had been holding out for €40m (£33.6m) but negotiations have brought the figure to below United’s aim of a total £30m package with the add-ons a split of both simple bonuses and others that are more difficult to achieve.

Ruben Amorim appears to have offered a lifeline to Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford ahead of the transfer deadline. ‘The situation is the same for every player,’ Amorim said ahead of United’s Europa League clash against Steaua Bucuresti on Thursday evening.
