Bill Belichick hasn't been the head coach of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels for even a month and already rumors are going around about NFL teams checking to see if the coach would be interested at all in making a move back to the professional ranks.

The Las Vegas Raiders are the latest NFL team with a head coaching vacancy after the franchise fired Antonio Pierce on Tuesday. Pierce only got one season in the official role, and he was plagued with quarterback issues throughout the year. However, he’s now gone, and Las Vegas will work to find his successor.

Antonio Pierce remains the Las Vegas Raiders' coach. For now, anyway. Pierce spoke at a news conference wrapping up his team's 4-13 season on Monday and said he hasn't “been told anything different” about his job status.

Johnson is also a candidate for the Chicago Bears' HC position. Mike Vrabel went 54-45 as the Tennessee Titans head coach before the team fired him in January 2024. He led the Titans to three playoff appearances, including the AFC Championship Game in 2019.
