As the Bulldogs turn their attention to the 2025 college football season, the team will be entering a new era of Georgia football.

A Georgia player who was ripped by head coach Kirby Smart earlier this season has officially left the program. Defensive back Jake Pope, a former 4-star recruit, entered the transfer portal last month ahead of Georgia’s College Football Playoff game against Notre Dame.

One of the more recent players to find his next landing spot in the NCAA transfer portal was former four-star safety Jake Pope. The Buford, Georgia native started his career at Alabama, where he spent two years before transferring to Georgia prior to this season. On Monday, he announced that he is transferring to play for Dan Mullen at UNLV.
