A fire department in New Mexico has launched a vending machine that offers free Narcan and gun locks to the community.

Each vending machine includes Narcan, fentanyl testing strips, medication lock bags and deactivation pouches, and gun locks, all for free.

They’ll be unveiled next week, on Friday, Sept. 20. Winnebago County public health officials say public health vending machines give even more access to helpful and potentially life-saving items.

Despite it being hot during the summer, the Polk County Health Department said this vending machine is temperature-controlled, meaning the Narcan inside is good and effective.
