UWO administrators, in response to walkout, acknowledge campus layoffs impacted the disabled student community The walkout was staged in front of Dempsey Hall May 2.

UWO professor Brian Engelhardt even spoke of leading an initiative with other faculty members that would see them continuing to offer two-year degrees at the campus after UW’s departure.

The campus reported an enrollment of 243 students for the 2023-24 school year UW-Milwaukee at Washington County is also directed to close in-person instruction for the same reasons.

UWO will welcome students back to its campuses in Oshkosh, Fond du Lac and Fox Cities on Sept. 9. Students were sent home in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
