Greg might be comfortable with living in a van for more spiritual reasons in the show’s present, but he’s also been functionally homeless his entire adult life, and is putting off doing anything.

In addition to Garnet (Estelle), Amethyst (Michaela Dietz) and Pearl (Deedee Magno Hall), Steven’s inner circle includes his human father Greg (Tom Scharpling) and best friend Connie (Grace Rolek).

Steven and Greg’s discussion at the start of the episode returns the series to its theme of moving on. The characters, even Rose as this episode revealed, want to move on from the past.

Supporting Steven throughout his journey are Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl — or the Crystal Gems — as well as his human father Greg and best friend Connie.
