The PS5 did get a call out from CEO Hiroki Totoki when discussing the possibility of moving manufacturing to the US to avoid the brunt of Donald Trump’s tariffs. He admitted that the console “can be produced locally,” and that it would be “an efficient strategy” that “has to be considered going forward.”

Sony seems poised to up the price of PS5 hardware as well, not that long after it had already previously raised prices due to Trump's tariffs.

Sony recently held its earnings call with investors, where the electronics giant announced its financial forecast for the next year. The company said that it expects President Trump's tariffs to impact its business, costing it around 100 billion yen (around $680 million), according to Nikkei Asia.
