The new Detective Pikachu sets for the Pokemon Trading Card Game are available starting today, April 5, here in the United States. It became available in international markets on March 29.

To put the $900,000 price tag in perspective, a slightly better “Mint 9″ condition Illustrator Pikachu sold in 2019 for $195,000. Then a “Near Mint 7″ copy sold for $375,000 in February 2021.

There was even a special, limited edition Van Gogh Pikachu trading card shown off that shows Pikachu in place of Van Gogh himself, a reference to his painting Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat.
