Pakistan batsman Haider Ali is under criminal investigation in England, his country’s cricket board said Thursday while Greater Manchester Police said an arrest has been made following a rape allegation.

Cricketer Haider Ali is being investigated by Greater Manchester Police and has been provisionally suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board. A 24-year-old man was arrested earlier this week following an accusation of rape at a ‘premises’ in Manchester.

Pakistani cricket is facing a new controversy as batter Haider Ali was arrested in England on alleged rape charges during the Shaheens' tour. Greater Manchester Police confirmed the arrest and subsequent bail.
