Tropical Storm Dexter is strengthening, and forecasters are keeping a close eye on two systems that could become tropical depressions.

"The Tropics are heating up with 3 systems that we are monitoring," the agency warned, as it shared a map of the weather patterns sparking concern out at sea.

A new cone was unveiled halfway through the 2024 hurricane season. It involves the traditional and recognizable cone that has been in use for years. The difference is, it’ll have watches, warnings, and advisories overlaid. It’s meant to show how far the impacts could spread beyond the cone.
