Dozens gathered outside the Minnesota House chamber on Friday to protest a key policy change that DFL and GOP leaders agreed to, in order to ink a budget deal.

Deiu Do’s father died, having struggled to get health care until “it was too late.” On Friday, the daughter of Mexican and Vietnamese immigrants urged a crowd gathered at the Capitol to call lawmakers and press them to oppose an “unacceptable” budget deal that revokes access to health care for adult undocumented immigrants.

Protest drowned out Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and legislative leaders as they announced a budget deal Thursday morning.
