Israel’s 15-month bombardment of Gaza has destroyed much of Hamas’s military wing. It has also degraded the Iran-backed proxy network that helps sustain the militant group.

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was announced by the U.S. on Wednesday. That evening, the Israeli prime minister said it was not yet finalized. If finalized, the deal is expected to lead to the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners. It will also allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
