The Southland Conference held its 2025 media day at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in downtown San Antonio, kicking off excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season.

Ahead of Lamar was Incarnate Word in first place, Stephen F. Austin in second and Southeastern Louisiana in third. In 2024, Lamar finished tied for third place with a 4-3 conference record.
