Volkswagen has recently revealed three more members of the Golf 8 family, the GTI, GTD, and GTE. However, there are two more performance versions on the way, this probably being the Golf GTI TCR.

Key to the Golf GTI TCR is the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s good for 286 hp (213 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque.

Powering the GTI TCR is a modified 2.0-liter I4 from the Golf-R. The TCR will have 38 more ponies than the already potent Golf-R -- putting the total at 330 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.

Last year, Volkswagen introduced to the world a 330-horsepower beast named the Golf GTI TCR concept — a wide-bodied, track-focused athlete built specifically for customer racing teams.

Naught to 100km/h (0-62 mph) takes 4.6 seconds with the R, so we’re probably looking at 4.7-4.8sec for the Golf GTI TCR.

The TCR version of the Golf GTI provided 286 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque in stock form. Also in stock form, this model required just 5.6 seconds to sprint from naught to 62 mph (100 kph).
