A trace fossil of 66 dinosaur footprints has been uncovered in Australia, providing a rare snapshot of dinosaur behavior and abundance from the Early Jurassic period.

Footprints connect people to the past in a way that a stone tool or archaeological artefact never can. Traditional archaeology is based on the discovery of stone tools.

The footprints were created some 115 million years ago, when what is now a Central Texas suburb was a beach on the Western Interior Seaway.
