California kingsnakes can be either brown and red, or black and white. There are many different color morphs of the California kingsnake, both in the wild as well as from selective breeding.

Some of them, such as the California Kingsnake, are also striped in a less vibrant, earth-toned pattern. King Cobras, however, are usually olive, brown, or gray with pale yellow or white crossbands.
