The owners of a 2.5-year-old, white, intact female rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) brought it to the Emergency Service of Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine for acute onset of diarrhea.

D oggie diarrhea can be an exhausting problem for pet owners. Whether it’s a new puppy or a beloved family dog, diarrhea can come on fast and at any hour of the day or night.

Ten days after arrival, 70% of the guinea pigs had loose feces and were quiet and depressed; a few had profuse yellow, watery diarrhea. Three days later, 15 young female guinea pigs were found dead.
