When podcast sensation “Serial” debuted in late 2014, the man at its center, Adnan Syed, had been locked away for more than 15 years, convicted of the 1999 murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee.

Mosby appeared on CNN early Wednesday morning, denying that the family of the ex-girlfriend and former classmate, Hae Min Lee, whom Syed was convicted of killing in 1999 was left out of the loop.
