Two fishermen were rescued off the coast of Kodiak, Alaska, on Wednesday, January 15, after their vessel began taking on water, the US Coast Guard reported.The US Coast Guard reported that the fishing boat Tanusha began sinking 23 miles southeast of Kodiak.

The crew of the Victory located the Tanusha capsized and two fishermen in a life raft. A Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew hoisted the two fishermen with the help of the Alaska State Trooper vessel Stimson, and transported them to awaiting emergency medical services personnel in Kodiak in stable condition.

The Coast Guard said the two fishermen were the only occupants aboard the Tanusha, which began taking on water 23 miles southeast of Kodiak, Alaska, on Wednesday. The crew abandoned ship after the vessel capsized.
