The Iowa City Police Department is investigating a suspicious death that happened Monday at a residence in the 300 Block of Camden Road, according to a news release from the department.

The victim in Monday's shooting has been identified as Christine Blount, 38, of Iowa City. Iowa City police officers responded to a report of shots fired at 2:38 a.m. in the 600 Block of South Dodge Street, near Oak Grove Park. The shooting took place roughly half a mile from the Pedmall in downtown Iowa City.
