The City of Chicago advised residents to be prepared for lake-effect snow overnight, along with cold weather throughout the week to come.

A band of lake effect snow is expected to develop after 8 p.m. Sunday and remain in place into Monday morning's commute, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to fall to the single digits on Wednesday.
