Amazon's cloud computing division says that it plans to invest "at least" $11 billion in Georgia to expand its data center infrastructure.

A third data center development is being planned in the Rome area of Georgia. An unnamed developer, which already owns land in the city, has been granted the option of 15 additional adjacent acres along Highway 53 for a data center project.

AWS’ Georgia investment is the latest in a series of 10-figure data center expansion initiatives the company has announced over the past two years. Last April, it detailed a $11 billion plan to build new data centers in Illinois. It’s also investing $35 billion to expand its cloud infrastructure footprint in Virginia.
