I fished on the Dan River side at the boat ramp just past the boat storage. THere is also a place to fish at the picnic area on the Staunton River side but when I was there nobody was catching much on that side. Shad seems to be the winning bait to use. I used night crawlers and had some success but the bigger cats were being caught on shad.
